Buckingham Tayberry

Thornless clone of the recent Scottish blackberry – raspberry cross, renowned for the size of its berries and its rich tart flavour. Eat fresh or use in summer puddings, fruit salads, jams and wine-making. Freezes well.

Season: July - August

Planting Distance: 4m (13ft)

Approximate Height: 1.5m (5ft) after 5 years

Tayberries need a fertile neutral soil to crop well (a pH of 6.0-7.5 is ideal) with good drainage in full sun.

Two pairs of horizontal wires, 60cm (2ft) and 1.2m (4ft) above ground, will be required to support the fruit-bearing canes in future years.
