Whitebeam Mountain Ash, Rowan
Sorbus vilmorinii

A beautiful small tree, closely related to our British native, with finely formed fern-like foliage that turns to vibrant red and purple in autumn. Large heads of creamy white flowers in spring are followed by open bunches of rosy red berries that fade through pink to almost white. Excellent autumn food for birds.

Size after 10 years:
approximately 3m (10ft) tall by 2m (6ft) across

Mountain Ash need a sunny site to grow well. They will thrive in most soils but can be short-lived on thin chalky soils.
