Whitebeam Mountain Ash, Rowan
Sorbus aucuparia Sheerwater Seedling

Beautiful small tree, an upright-growing form of our British native, renowned for its stunning autumn colours. The heavy clusters of bright orange-red berries make excellent food for hungry birds and are closely followed by the purple red and orange of its fiery autumn foliage. The attractive "pinnate" leaves and large heads of creamy-white flowers in spring make this a tree with many seasons of interest.

Size after 10 years:
approximately 5m (16ft) tall by 4m (13ft) across

Mountain Ash need a sunny site to grow well. They will thrive in most soils but can be short-lived on thin chalky soils.
