Whitebeam Mountain Ash, Rowan
Sorbus aucuparia Asplenifolia

Beautiful variety of our British native rowan, a vigorous small tree whose cut leaves give it a fern-like appearance, renowned for its stunning autumn colours. The heavy clusters of bright orange-red berries make excellent food for hungry birds.

Rootstock: colt (semi-dwarf)

Size after 10 years:
approximately 5m (16ft) tall by 4m (13ft) across

Mountain Ash need a sunny site to grow well. They will thrive in most soils but can be short-lived on thin chalky soils.
