Raspberry - Glen Prosen

Outstanding modern Scottish variety, disease-resistant and virtually spineless. Delicious eaten fresh it also freezes well. Very heavy crops of firm juicy fruit ripening over a long picking season make this quite possibly one of the most valuable garden fruits.

Season: July

Planting Distance: 45cm (18in)

Approximate Height: 1.5m (5ft) after 5 years

Raspberries need a fertile neutral soil to crop well (a pH of 6.0-7.5 is ideal) with good drainage in full sun.

Two pairs of horizontal wires, 60cm (2ft) and 1.2m (4ft) above ground, will be required to support the fruit-bearing canes in future years.
