Plum - Victoria

Deservedly the most popular and most widely planted plum in Britain. Delicious eaten fresh off the tree, it also cooks well. Reliable and very heavy cropping, the branches may need support to avoid breaking under the weight of the fruit.

Season: September

Planting Distance: 5m (16ft)

Approximate Height: 4m (13ft) after 10 years

Pollination: This plum is self-fertile, but may be planted with any other of our plum varieties to ensure best pollination.

Instances of poor pollination are nearly always caused by bad weather at blossom time, limiting the activity of insects.

This plum tree is growing on a semi-dwarf rootstock, ideal for the average garden.

Plums need a sunny site and a neutral soil to crop well, a pH of 6.0 - 7.5 is ideal.
