Plum - Seneca

Huge deep purple plum bred in New York State in 1937 and named after a local Indian tribe. Sweet and juicy with excellent flavour, delicious eaten straight from the tree it also cooks well.

Instances of poor pollination are nearly always caused by bad weather at blossom time, limiting the activity of insects.

This plum tree is growing on a semi-dwarf rootstock, ideal for the average garden.

Plums need a sunny site and a neutral soil to crop well, a pH of 6.0 - 7.5 is ideal.
