Buckingham Tayberry

Thornless clone of the recent Scottish blackberry raspberry cross, renowned for the size of its berries and its rich tart flavour. Eat fresh or use in summer puddings, fruit salads, jams and wine-making. Freezes well.

Season: July - August

Planting Distance: 4m (13ft)

Approximate Height: 1.5m (5ft) after 5 years

Tayberries need a fertile neutral soil to crop well (a pH of 6.0-7.5 is ideal) with good drainage in full sun.

Two pairs of horizontal wires, 60cm (2ft) and 1.2m (4ft) above ground, will be required to support the fruit-bearing canes in future years.
