Plena Hawthorn
Crataegus laevigata

This beautiful small rounded tree, a double flowered form of our British native hawthorn or may, is smothered in fragrant blossom in spring, then laden in autumn with bunches of bright red "haws" that make excellent food for hungry birds. The foliage also usually colours richly towards the end of the year. Very tough and hardy, ideal for exposed or coastal sites.
