Blackcurrant - Ben Hope

Very heavy cropping modern Scottish variety with outstanding disease resistance. Late ripening with very large currants to make picking easier. Rich tart flavour, delicious as purée with yoghurt or ice cream,or use in pies, jams or juices. Freezes well. A rich source of vitamin C. Late-blooming to avoid spring frosts.

Currants need a fertile neutral soil to crop well (a pH of 6.0-7.5 is ideal) in full sun.
